Data Protection Analyst (Day Rate Contractor)Position OverviewWe are currently seeking a Data Protection Analyst for a day rate contracting position. This role is aimed at maturing the company's data protection programme through the effective implementation and management of data protection technologies and controls. The Data Protection Analyst will engage with various levels of the organisation, including senior management, to foster a culture prioritising data protection.What You'll DoMonitor, triage, and manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP) alerts and incidents.Develop and enhance processes and procedures for enterprise data protection.Assist in maturing DLP and CASB solutions by creating, testing, and implementing new DLP policies across various tools and platforms.Utilise DLP products to create and maintain monitoring policies for users, emails, desktops, and networks.Collaborate closely with stakeholders to identify data loss concerns where DLP policies and services can be effectively defined, designed, and implemented.Implement data-use policies and procedures within business lines.Promote and build a company-wide culture focused on data protection.Enforce data loss prevention policies across the organisation using technical preventive controls.Assist with data classification and tagging initiatives.Act as an infrastructure services liaison for DLP-related issues tracking and management.Education and Experience You'll BringRequiredBachelor's degree or higher in Information Security, Risk or IT Management, Computer Science, or a related IT field; OR a minimum of 3-5 years of equivalent IT experience.3-5 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity or a related IT field with robust knowledge of data protection and incident response capabilities.Proficient in Data Loss Prevention or other enterprise scanning tools, including policy tuning and documentation of supporting procedures.Must maintain comprehensive documentation for the DLP programme and governance processes.Preferred hands-on experience with DLP in cloud technology (e.g., AWS, CASB, O365, SharePoint).Experience in whitelisting or blacklisting processes for devices and email accounts.Exceptional self-motivation, attention to detail, and direction.Ability to quickly learn, understand, and apply new technologies.Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Experience in fast-paced, time-sensitive, high-quality environments.Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.PreferredKnowledge of cybersecurity best practices and regulatory compliance.Contract PositionThis position is contract-based and will operate on a day rate.
