Director of Sales and Marketing Job Overview
The Director of Sales and Marketing will lead the sales and commercial function, driving growth and success in core product lines across existing markets.
This senior leadership role is responsible for executing new markets in geographies and product lines outside of the core, either by acquisition, joint venture or organically developed in line with product line strategy.
* Develop strategic programs to grow markets and market share outside of today's current business level.
* Develop strategies for the outsourcing of new products either in Europe or globally to service the European market.
* Manage the core sales team through the European Sales Director leadership.
* Fully understand, diagnose, develop, and measure market share in EMEA.
* Report on the strategic function and development of sales, commercial, market expansion and new products to the senior management team in Europe and to the parent corporation in the USA.
Sales & Marketing – Europe:
* Lead the development and execution of European sales and marketing strategy, aligned with global business goals.
* Drive sustained growth in core product sales across key markets.
* Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns and system-selling initiatives in collaboration with the sales team.
* Coach, support, and develop the EMEA Commercial Team, including Regional Sales Managers and their teams and ensure readiness for continued expansion.
* Build and manage strong customer and distribution partner relationships across the region.
* Analyse customer and market data to identify opportunities and shape strategy, and track performance. Identify and penetrate new sectors and geographies in alignment with the company's strategic goals.
* Ensure robust pipeline management and forecasting practices are in place across all regions.
Customer Service – Europe:
* Collaborate closely with the Customer Service team to ensure high-quality service and support.
* Partner with the Supply Chain Manager to align customer service with operational delivery.
* Support initiatives to enhance service capabilities and expand offerings to meet evolving customer needs.
* Promote cross-functional collaboration between sales, customer service, and operations to deliver a seamless customer experience.
We require the following skills and qualifications:
* At least 10 years' experience in sales and marketing leadership roles within the manufacturing industry.
* Strong preference for candidates with a deep understanding of industrial B2B markets, including distribution channels.
* Demonstrated success in managing multinational commercial teams, driving growth, and delivering results.
* Proven experience in coaching and developing teams in a high-performance environment.
* Strong commercial acumen, with an analytical approach to market and customer strategy.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
* Willingness to travel extensively within Europe.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
* Familiarity with CRM platforms and marketing automation tools.
* Multilingual skills advantageous.
* Fluent and high level of English.
