Overview
Operations Finance R&D Senior Analyst - EMEIA (23 Month Contract).
The Finance department based in the Cork Campus supports all functions of Apple in EMEIA, including European Sales Fulfilment, AppleCare after-sales services, European Logistics, Manufacturing & Operations, Apple Media Products, Apple Retail, and serves as the Shared Services Centre for EMEIA. Engineering & Operations Finance partners with the Engineering, Operations, and AppleCare teams to optimize the supply chain and provide the best possible customer experience. This role sits within the EMEIA Engineering & Operations Finance team and focuses on managing costs and controls, driving strategic decision-making, and supporting corporate initiatives across key partners.
The successful candidate will support strategic financial planning, maximize access to R&D tax credits, KDB, and other grant incentive programs administered by Revenue and IDA Ireland. This is a leadership position with significant exposure in EMEIA and beyond.
Responsibilities
* Act as internal subject matter expert on R&D tax credits, KDB, and other innovation-related tax regimes.
* Oversee the annual R&D tax credit claim process: manage timelines, facilitate review meetings, compile financial submissions, oversee technical write ups, and coordinate with external service providers.
* Own the IDA RD&I grant application and drawdown process: compile applications and drawdown documents, support business teams, lead the claim draw-down and audit activity.
* Maintain the system of record for R&D activity documentation.
* Stay informed on legislative changes and assess implications for the organisation.
* Evaluate additional relevant innovation-based Irish tax supports, grants, and incentive schemes.
* Identify and partner with new teams to assess qualifying activity and educate stakeholders on available R&D supports in Ireland.
* Present progress at Quarterly Business Reviews and Steering meetings.
* Model the financial impact of tax reliefs and grant funding for business planning.
* Partner with multiple internal stakeholder groups across Operations, Engineering, IS&T, Tax, Finance, Legal, Public Relations, and Government Affairs.
* Liaise with external advisors and government agencies as required.
Minimum Qualifications
* Subject matter expertise in R&D tax credits and grant incentive programs (e.g., IDA Ireland, Revenue).
* Experience in a related role such as financial analysis, tax advisory or project management.
* Excellent planning and analytical skills with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
* Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
