Purpose of role:This post involves on-service commitment per existing rota, weekend on-call per existing rota, twice-weekly outpatient clinics (one each for Diabetes and Endocrinology), and triaging of new patient referrals.This role will contribute to the development of the national model of care for Gender services.Eligibility CriteriaMandatory Professional Qualifications and Experience:Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland in the specialty of Paediatrics.The successful candidate must be registered as a specialist in the relevant specialty within 180 days of interview and before taking up the appointment.Maintain registration with the Medical Council of Ireland throughout tenure; documentary evidence required annually.If not registered as a Specialist at the time of appointment, the post may be offered to the next suitable candidate.Two years postgraduate training in paediatric endocrinology.Significant experience in clinical practice in delivering acute unscheduled care.Credibility and ability to command respect among clinical and non-clinical professionals.Excellent interpersonal skills.Leadership and team management skills, including managing staff and working with multidisciplinary teams.Experience operating in complex and challenging environments.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to recognize and respect the expertise of others and promote teamwork.Effective planning and organizing skills.Proficiency with hospital data/information systems.How to Apply & Other QueriesApplications should include a CV and a cover letter.
