About the Role
The Networking Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our growing network infrastructure. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security of all networking systems. Additionally, this role may spend up to 20% of their time providing basic IT support. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Only candidates based in Dublin and open to commute to the office M-F will be considered at this time.
Responsibilities
* Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
* Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
* Implement and manage network security measures to protect organizational data and resources.
* Collaborate with IT and business teams to support infrastructure projects and system upgrades.
* Perform routine network maintenance, updates, and documentation to ensure compliance and reliability.
* Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff.
* Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies to enhance efficiency and scalability.
* Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with external partners as needed.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
* 3+ years of experience in network administration or engineering.
* Proficiency with Cisco Meraki or similar networking equipment.
* Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and network protocols.
* Experience with network security practices and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS).
* Familiarity with cloud-based networking and DNS (Azure preferred).
* Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+ are highly desirable.
The Networking Specialist may need to be on‑call to address critical network incidents outside normal business hours. Limited international travel to company sites may be necessary for hands‑on projects or major system upgrades.
