Activities Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Activities Coordinator to join our team in a nursing home in Roscommon.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with the elderly, excellent interpersonal skills, and a creative mindset for planning diverse activities that promote resident well-being and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

* Plan, coordinate, and facilitate engaging activities for nursing home residents, promoting social interactions and a safe environment.
* Coordinate special events and celebrations for holidays, birthdays, and other milestones, ensuring inclusivity and respect for all residents.
* Communicate effectively with nursing staff, caregivers, and family members about residents' participation and progress in activities, fostering collaboration and open communication.
* Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity schedules, ensuring seamless coordination and minimizing confusion.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of programs that promote resident engagement, autonomy, and dignity, enhancing the overall care experience.

Requirements:

* Degree in a relevant field, such as gerontology, psychology, or social work.
* Proven experience in coordinating activities for elderly populations, preferably in a nursing home setting.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents, staff, and families.
* Ability to plan and implement activities that cater to diverse interests and abilities, promoting resident satisfaction and engagement.
* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to elder care and activities coordination.
