Job Summary
Lead Developer (Senior Manager) – data and analytics, focus on leveraging data to drive insights and support informed business decisions.
Responsible for developing analytics solutions that optimise operations and achieve strategic goals for PwC clients.
Responsibilities
Architecture & Design: develop scalable data solutions, define data models, design data lakes/lakehouses, and produce high-level design documents.
Development & Optimization: build and optimise complex data pipelines (batch and streaming) using PySpark/Scala, Delta Lake, and SQL, and automate workflows.
Leadership & Mentoring: guide development teams, share best practices, mentor engineers, and lead technical initiatives.
Data Governance & Quality: implement data quality checks, security measures (RBAC, Unity Catalog), and ensure data lineage.
Cloud & DevOps: work with cloud services (Azure/AWS), implement CI/CD pipelines (Git, Azure DevOps), and manage Databricks clusters.
Collaboration: partner with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Healthcare Impact: spearhead analytics projects that enhance healthcare outcomes, ensuring code quality, compliance, and reliability.
Qualifications
Technical: deep expertise in PySpark/Scala, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, SQL, Databricks notebooks/workflows, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), CI/CD tools, and data modelling.
Leadership: demonstrated experience leading projects, mentoring teams, architectural design, stakeholder management, and complex problem solving.
Experience: over 5 years in data engineering or software engineering with substantial exposure to Databricks.
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
Certifications: optional but desirable (e.g., Azure/AWS certifications, Databricks professional).
Additional: strong analytical skills, communication, and teamwork; ability to travel as required.
