Location: Covering counties of Tipperary and Waterford
Responsibilities
* Hold a caseload and provide quality assurance, practice development, and professional/clinical leadership.
* Co‑ordinate, assess, plan, implement, and review care for service users according to service standards.
* Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct and professional clinical guidelines.
* Manage own caseload, encourage evidence‑based practice, and use a care‑planning approach to nursing care.
* Communicate and work in cooperation with inter‑professional teams, including general practitioners, public health nurses, and emergency departments.
* Collaborate with service users, families, carers, and staff in treatment and care planning.
* Coordinate care for service users with long‑term relationships, organise OPDs and physical assessments.
* Plan discharge or transition between services and maintain nursing records.
* Contribute to development and maintenance of nursing standards, protocols and guidelines.
* Implement quality management programmes and participate in clinical audit.
* Lead and implement change, including the Commission on Nursing recommendations.
* Operate within Scope of Practice, seeking assistance for cases beyond competence.
* Adhere to health and safety, infection control, and risk‑assessment policies.
* Support sustainable energy, water, and waste initiatives.
* Engage in continuing professional development and supervise staff and student nurses.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered nurses in the Register of Nurses (preferably Psychiatric Division).
* At least 3 years post‑registration experience, including one year in Psychiatric Nursing.
* Clinical, managerial, and administrative capacity to discharge the role's duties.
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
* Knowledge of psychiatric nursing administration procedures.
* Demonstrated ability to lead clinical practice, promote evidence‑based decision making, and foster a safe team environment.
* Aged under 65, in good health, and of good character.
* Able to plan, organise, lead, communicate, innovate, and adapt to change.
