This is a full time permanent role with nationwide projects across Ireland.
About the Role
As a Town Planner, you will play a key role in the delivery of planning services, contributing to a variety of high-profile projects across Ireland. You will be involved in all stages of the planning process, from initial research and site assessments to preparing planning applications and liaising with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct research, desktop studies, site visits, and prepare planning reports and applications.
* Provide expert input to EIARs and planning appeals.
* Demonstrate a solid understanding of Irish and/or UK planning systems, EIA legislation, and policy guidance.
* Manage planning risk through solution-oriented advice.
* Represent the company at client meetings, public consultations, and engagements with planning authorities and statutory bodies.
* Prepare, review, and validate planning applications, ensuring compliance with regulations.
* Liaise with An Bord Pleanála and participate in pre-application consultations.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers and scientists to develop sustainable and practical solutions.
* Contribute to tender submissions and business development activities.
* Stay up to date with legislative changes, industry best practices, and technological advancements.
Person Specification:
* Minimum 3 years' post-graduate professional experience in a planning role.
* Degree accredited by the Irish Planning Institute (IPI) and/or Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
* Strong knowledge of Irish and/or UK planning systems and environmental legislation.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant planning software.
* Experience with GIS software (desirable but not essential).
