WSP’s Land team in Ireland is seeking talented Land Consultants, at various levels, to join our Naas-based team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our Land Team in delivering land referencing, landowner engagement, consultation management, land access, formal consents, statutory orders, compensation agreements, and land acquisition for infrastructure projects across Ireland and the UK.

We support high-profile infrastructure projects across sectors such as Energy, Water, Road, Rail, and Local Authorities, including projects like the North South Interconnector, NM20, Dublin Metrolink, M17, A5, and HS2. Many of our energy projects are vital for renewable energy deployment, aiding Ireland’s goal to achieve net zero carbon emissions.

As the largest Land Referencing business in the UK and Ireland, with over 250 Land colleagues, our team benefits from multidisciplinary support across Naas, Belfast, and wider GB offices.


Associate Land Consultant role

1. Lead a team of technical specialists to ensure successful project delivery on time, within budget, and to high standards.
2. Build trusted relationships with clients (both external and internal).
3. Advise on land issues and statutory processes in Ireland and the UK, including CPO, Motorway Order, Vesting Order, etc.
4. Secure land rights for strategic infrastructure projects.
5. Engage with landowners, auctioneers, land agents, legal representatives, planning authorities, stakeholders, contractors, and clients.
6. Collaborate with engineering, environmental, and planning teams.
7. Ensure quality assurance of land interests identification, access negotiations, land rights acquisition, and planning applications.
8. Promote land services and contribute to business development across various sectors.
9. Share knowledge and lessons across regions and projects.
10. Develop efficient practices and foster innovation to deliver industry-leading services.
11. Manage and mentor staff, contributing to business strategy execution.
12. Assist in bid/tender writing for securing opportunities.
13. Lead technical training initiatives.
14. Willingness to travel within Ireland and the UK.


What we look for in you

* Expertise in rural environments, property, communities, and agricultural practices.
* Experience with infrastructure development schemes and multidisciplinary teams.
* Negotiation experience with landowners and knowledge of legal land acquisition processes.
* Proven ability to reduce land risks and advise throughout project lifecycles.
* Experience with Orders, consents, and relevant legislation.
* Effective communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work independently and under pressure, delivering high-quality outputs.
* Strong landowner and public engagement skills.
* Good business and IT skills.
* High standards of quality assurance and document management.
* Degree in Geography, Agriculture, Land and Estate Management, or similar; chartership or professional membership advantageous.



Senior Land Consultant role

1. Utilize statutory powers to acquire land for clients in energy, highway, rail, water, telecoms, gas, or renewable sectors.
2. Prepare and assure technical documents related to land interests and rights.
3. Negotiate Heads of Terms for land acquisition.
4. Engage with landowners, agents, legal reps, stakeholders, and clients.
5. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
6. Develop efficient practices and promote innovation.
7. Manage and develop a team of early career professionals.
8. Contribute to business development and strategy.
9. Willingness to travel within Ireland and the UK.


What we look for in you

* Degree or equivalent in relevant disciplines.
* Experience with land referencing, access, engagement, and statutory processes.
* Experience negotiating with landowners and legal processes for land interests.
* Proven track record with Orders and land development legislation.
* Experience in infrastructure sectors like electricity, road, gas, rail, and renewables.
* Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
* Knowledge of rural environments and farming practices (desirable).
* Chartership or professional membership advantageous.
* A full driver’s license is essential.


Assistant Land Consultant role

1. Perform land referencing activities, including registry searches, research, and investigations.
2. Manage land and owner data accurately in databases and GIS.
3. Visit landowners for ownership confirmation and access agreements.
4. Support land rights acquisition and negotiations.
5. Assist with Orders and statutory land acquisition processes.
6. Participate in project meetings.


What we look for in you

* Relevant degree with understanding of land-use and landownership issues.
* Experience with databases, GIS, and landowner engagement.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Knowledge of rural environments and farming practices (desirable).
* A full driver’s license is essential.
