A well-established insurance brokerage is seeking a Commercial New Business Executive to join its growing North West team. This is a client-focused sales role within a fast-paced commercial insurance environment, offering the opportunity to work closely with regional leadership while developing new business opportunities across both company-generated leads and the wider open market.
The position can be based in Cavan, Sligo, or Letterkenny.
Your new role
You will be responsible for identifying, quoting, and converting new commercial insurance business while supporting the overall objectives of the regional commercial team.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing and converting commercial new business opportunities
Working on company-driven sales campaigns and open market business development
Building and maintaining strong relationships with prospective clients and insurer partners
Meeting agreed income, activity, and referral targets
Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and internal procedures
Managing premium collection and aged debt in line with company processes
Maintaining accurate records and supporting audit requirements
Collaborating closely with regional management and wider business development teams
Delivering a high standard of customer service and technical support throughout the sales process
What you'll need to succeed
CIP qualification
Previous experience in commercial insurance sales or a similar role
Strong technical knowledge of commercial insurance products
Proven ability to generate and convert new business opportunities
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Comfortable working in a target-driven environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Understanding of regulatory requirements including the Central Bank Minimum Competency Code and Fitness & Probity standards
