Senior Food Service Operations Manager
Our organisation is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Food Service Operations Manager to support the delivery of high-quality food services across a modern healthcare environment.
This role will oversee day-to-day operations across inpatient meals, main kitchen, restaurant, hospitality, and coffee dock services ensuring exceptional service for patients, staff, and visitors.
* Lead, motivate, and support catering supervisors and frontline teams to achieve operational excellence and improve overall customer satisfaction.
* Uphold food safety, hygiene, FOG, and regulatory compliance at all times by implementing effective quality control measures and conducting regular audits.
* Drive operational efficiency, quality improvement, and service innovation by analysing data, identifying trends, and making informed decisions.
* Assist in budgeting, procurement, and cost-effective resource management to ensure optimal use of resources and minimize waste.
* Support HR functions including recruitment, training, performance reviews, and rostering to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce.
* Champion health and safety and continuous staff development by promoting a positive work culture and providing opportunities for growth and learning.
* Maintain accurate HR, training, audit, and financial documentation to ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
* Deputise for the Catering Manager as required to ensure seamless operation and continuity of service.
About You:
1. A holder of a recognised catering or management degree or a minimum of 5 years management experience in a healthcare/hospitality setting.
2. Detailed working knowledge of Food Safety & Food Safety Systems (IS340 and ISO22000) to ensure compliance with industry standards.
3. Experience in HR matters including rostering, recruitment, and finance to manage personnel effectively.
4. An interest in project development particularly in relation to larger projects affecting the Catering Department to drive innovation and improvement.
5. A strong people leader with hands-on hospitality or healthcare catering experience to inspire and motivate team members.
6. A proven background in compliance audits HACCP and service excellence to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
7. Confident managing budgets systems and process optimisation to achieve operational efficiency.
8. Tech-aware and open to digital service enhancements (e.g., meal-ordering apps) to improve the customer experience.
