Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site High Voltage testing and Commissioning Engineer role. The role involves planning, executing, and documenting commissioning activities for high voltage substations, renewable energy plants, and associated power systems. Day-to-day tasks include performing electrical testing of HV equipment, verifying protection and control schemes, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring systems operate according to design, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The engineer will review drawings and specifications, prepare test procedures, compile commissioning reports, and collaborate closely with design engineers, site supervisors, and client representatives. The role also includes supporting energization activities, participating in safety meetings and risk assessments, and contributing to continuous improvement of testing and commissioning processes.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 to 3 years experience in high voltage testing and commissioning
Strong background in Electrical Engineering, with practical experience in high voltage systems and equipment.
Proficiency in testing of HV equipment such as transformers, switchgear, protection relays, and cable systems.
Experience working as part of a Commissioning Engineers team, including planning and executing commissioning scopes on substations or power plants.
Ability to diagnose and resolve issues through systematic troubleshooting of electrical and control systems.
Relevant academic qualification, such as a degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering.
Strong documentation skills, including preparation of test reports, method statements, and as-built records.
Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary site and client teams.
Willingness to work on different project locations as required.
Professional certificatiogns in high voltage testing, commissioning, or safety (e.g., HV authorization, protection testing) are an advantage.
