We are recruiting a Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (Mental Health) to join a new, specialist community‑based Multidisciplinary Health Team delivering Housing First, wrap‑around mental health and addiction supports to people transitioning out of homelessness in Dublin 1. This role blends hands‑on clinical practice with visible, values‑led leadership. You will support nurses and MDT colleagues to deliver trauma‑informed, recovery‑oriented and harm‑reduction focused care to individuals with complex mental health, addiction and dual‑diagnosis needs. This is not a desk‑based post. It’s leadership at street level — grounded, practical and human.
Your Role as Clinical Nurse Manager 1

Key responsibilities include:
Providing clinical leadership, supervision, coaching and mentoring to nursing staff
Leading mental health assessments, care planning, interventions, reviews and discharge planning

Managing a mental health nursing caseload within community and home‑based settings
Carrying out home visits, outreach and follow‑up with clients in their own homes
Working closely with Housing First case managers and external partners including GPs, addiction services, CMHTs, housing providers and community agencies
Embedding trauma‑informed, evidence‑based and recovery‑focused practice across the service
Ensuring care aligns with Housing First principles: choice, rights, inclusion and unconditional support
Maintaining compliance with NMBI, HSE, Mental Health Commission, HIQA and internal clinical governance frameworks
Contributing to audits, risk management, policy development, service review and quality improvement
Supporting induction, reflective practice, CPD and professional development within the MDT
Essential Requirements:
Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) registered in the Mental Health Division of NMBI (Active PIN for 2025 or full eligibility at final registration stage)
Minimum 4 years post‑registration experience, including at least 2 years in mental health services
Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership, supervision or senior nursing roles
Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and interagency teams
Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD)
Strong communication, organisational and IT skills
Experience working across community and outreach settings
A pragmatic, compassionate, person‑centred leadership style
Desirable Experience:

Involvement in service development, quality improvement or managing change
Experience within Housing First, community mental health or addiction services
Salary & Benefits:
€61,443 annual salary
35‑hour working week (part‑time considered)
Monday–Friday working pattern between 8am–8pm (flexibility required)
Fixed‑term contract (5 years) with potential extension subject to funding
25 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays, pro‑rata)
Access to ongoing CPD, specialist training and clinical supervision
A values‑driven, progressive community mental health service
Leadership role with real influence on practice and outcomes
Work that delivers measurable, life‑changing impact for people exiting homelessness
This role suits a confident, grounded mental health nurse leader who believes good governance and good care are inseparable — and that recovery starts with housing, dignity and consistent support.
