Rail Engineering Director at AtkinsRéalis
We are looking for an experienced, technically competent, organised, and collaborative individual with a track record of delivering significant multi‑disciplinary rail projects as a Rail Engineering Manager or Design Manager. The ideal candidate is a Chartered Engineer and has experience across all stages of the project life cycle. You will lead technical delivery of projects of varying size and complexity, manage a team of engineering managers, and provide technical oversight across the Ireland Rail portfolio.

Your role
Overall engineering and technical leadership of rail engineering projects in Ireland.
Acting as a Design or Engineering Manager on projects.
Managing a team of Engineering managers.
Introducing an effective competency management system to the Rail engineering delivery.
Managing the multi‑disciplinary design process.
Ensuring design is defined and delivered in accordance with appropriate guidance, standards and client requirements.
Being the primary point of contact for all technical matters for rail in Ireland.
Line management of engineering managers and systems engineering managers.
Developing technical/quality proposals for new commissions.
Implementing a robust quality management system.
Chartered with Engineers Ireland or equivalent professional institution.
Ensuring safe‑by‑design is at the core of design and delivery.
Commitment to continuous improvement in own and team performance.
About You
Educated to a level 8/9 engineering degree.
Relevant postgraduate experience, primarily in a consultancy environment.
Experience delivering projects to BIM Level 2 equivalent.
Awareness of developing technologies and best practice in the industry.
Effective communicator (written, verbal & presentation skills).
Full driving licence.
