Preparation, cooking, portion control and service of all food required for the daily meal service and buffets/functions as required.
Assist with compiling menus
Preparation of special needs diets
Minimise waste and identify cost saving measures
Maintaining high standards of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety including record keeping
Support, assist and supervise assistant cooks, catering assistants, catering domestics
Ordering and stock control including stock takes.
Cleaning of kitchen areas and equipment
Carry out any other duties associated with the role and as assigned by management
Such other duties as may be necessary to ensure residents receive a satisfactory and enjoyable meal service
Comply with Health and Safety Regulations and Fire Policy.
Report hazards to management.
Operate any control systems as defined by the Head Chef, completing necessary records
Attend and complete all training assigned by the Home
Assisting and deputising for Head Chef
