Director of Contracts Position Summary
The Director of Contracts supports the company's commercial strategy related to negotiations and ongoing management of purchasing contracts. This role leads a team of contract analysts and partners with internal stakeholders to produce and manage RFPs and RFQs, lead negotiations, and develop KPIs and core metrics to measure vendor performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the vendor selection process, analyzing vendor proposals with key stakeholders in maintenance and finance organizations.
2. Maintain industry visibility and engagement to source new partners using innovative techniques to drive cost savings, reliability, and lead times.
3. Negotiate vendor purchasing agreements, shipping and payment terms, fixed pricing, and approved company contacts.
4. Administer and own the company's contract database repository.
5. Lead the CTPAT initiative and overall program development.
6. Serve as liaison for purchasing contracts between internal stakeholders and external legal counsel.
7. Finding and facilitating new purchasing initiatives to drive costs down across the company.
8. Develop and present business cases and related ROI to senior management for investment in upgrades or replacement of hardware/software.
9. Maintain close relationships with current vendors, track issues, and help troubleshoot production issues and anticipate potential concerns with vendor reliability, engineering techniques, or production capabilities.
10. Partner with Finance to complete financial and productivity analysis on vendor contract or contract amendment proposals.
11. Manage Contract Analysts and their daily activities in the contract life cycle.
12. Engage across the organization at all levels of leadership to prepare commercial agreements.
13. Effectively manage and operate within the approved operating and capital budget.
14. Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Management, Aviation Management, or related discipline.
2. At least 6 years' experience in procurement, supply chain management, vendor relations.
3. Must have experience leading and managing complex negotiations.
4. Experience with managing multiple vendors, domestic and international.
5. Proven ability to handle operational issues effectively.
6. Previous development of budgets, forecasting, and operational expenses.
7. Demonstrated leadership with strong abilities in relationship management.
8. Gained experience in managing resources to meet goals across multiple projects.
9. Gained experience in leading multi-discipline, high-performance work teams/groups.
10. Demonstrated competency in developing efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems.
11. Ability to plan requirements three to five years in advance.
12. Commitment to system functionality and user satisfaction in rapidly growing and changing environments.
13. Ability to speak/read/write in English.
14. Authorized to work in the US.
