Associate Mechanical Engineer
Dublin - Hybrid
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Associate Mechanical Engineer to lead high-profile mechanical design projects across EMEA. This is a senior position requiring strong leadership, technical excellence, and commercial awareness. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, ensure quality standards, and drive innovation in mechanical engineering design within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide technical oversight and review mechanical designs to ensure alignment with project scope, quality, and performance expectations.
* Lead high-performing, multidisciplinary teams across multiple projects and locations.
* Champion quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) standards across all stages of project delivery.
* Monitor and manage project costs, identifying areas for innovation and savings.
* Oversee collaboration between mechanical and electrical engineering teams.
* Support resource planning and manage both internal and outsourced engineering capacity.
* Interpret and work within the terms of engineering and construction contracts.
* Contribute to the identification of new trends and emerging technologies relevant to the business.
* Assist senior leadership with business development, tendering, and client engagement.
* Represent the mechanical discipline in internal management meetings and external client interactions.
* Conduct monthly one-to-ones with team members, supporting career development and performance management.
* Deliver training, mentorship, and development plans for junior engineers and underperforming staff.
* Ensure all engineering processes meet current standards and leverage new tools or technologies as appropriate.
About You:
* Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (Chartered status is an advantage).
* 8+ years' experience in mechanical engineering, ideally within data centre, industrial, or commercial sectors.
* Proven track record in leading and managing teams of engineers and consultants (3+ years).
* Experience managing both mechanical and electrical project scopes.
* Strong understanding of contracts, construction phases, and design lifecycle.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
* Passionate about quality, innovation, and sustainable engineering design.
* Comfortable working across various client and stakeholder environments.
