Summary
Working in Hollister's Continence Care business, the engineer will gain practical experience in working within a high volume manufacturing engineering environment.
The position will liaise with Global Engineering (GE), Facilities, Research & Development (R&D), Quality Assurance (QA) & Global Marketing (GMO) in order to effectively carry out their responsibilities.
The engineer will receive formal/informal training in the following: concept development, mechanical design, test method development and implementation, process definition and qualification.
Responsibilities
Production Services: Supporting Hollister specific manufacturing technologies.
Mechanical Design: Supporting the planning and specification of mechanical machine elements and machines for product manufacture, together with the upgrading or modification of existing or new processes.
Equipment modification: Supporting the design and implementation of cost-effective methods to help improve safety, reliability and throughput.
Problem Solving: Discussing and solving complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers – as part of day to day support of the value stream.
Providing support to Engineering Services, Manufacturing & Supply Chain Departments.
Report writing and presenting
Other related tasks depending on project assignment and priorities
May involvesome international travel to vendors or other Hollister sites
Work Experience Requirements
1-2 years' experience in the medical device industry preferred (this may include work placement).
Education Requirements
Level 8 Degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering.
Skills Requirements
Excellent PC skills, in particular MS Office
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to work on own initiative and respond to changing priorities
