Role Summary
We are looking for a junior- to mid-level data scientist to develop methodologies using Ookla's rich data sets, describing internet performance to help consumers, service providers, and regulators make informed decisions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of networking, inferential statistics, and data programming, with an inquisitive and creative problem-solving approach, excellent communication skills, and a passion for data advocacy.
Expectations for Success
1. Lead development of measurements, KPIs, and models for internet quality of service and experience.
2. Develop statistical testing approaches for these measurements.
3. Collaborate with data engineers and product managers to turn methodologies into data products.
4. Develop methods for anomaly detection and data quality assurance.
5. Support licensing, sales, presales, and industry analysis activities.
6. Ensure quality and consistency of Ookla’s products and outputs.
7. Create tools, documentation, and processes for reproducible reporting and self-service.
8. Stay updated with latest data science advancements.
9. Mentor and support team members.
Requirements
