We’re now seeking an accomplished Associate Director – Flood Civil Engineering to lead project teams, drive strategy, and grow our presence across Ireland and the UK.
🚀 The Opportunity
As an Associate Director, you’ll take the helm of major flood risk and water management projects, managing technical excellence, operational delivery, and client satisfaction. You’ll also play a critical role in mentoring teams, shaping business development strategy, and contributing to the leadership of our water and environmental division.
🔍 What You’ll Be Doing
• 🌍 Lead Delivery of High-Profile Flood Control and Water Management Projects
• 🗂️ Oversee Full Project Lifecycle—planning, budgeting, compliance, and delivery
• 👥 Manage and Mentor Multidisciplinary Teams of Engineers and Consultants
• 🤝 Act as Primary Client Interface, building and maintaining key relationships
• 📈 Drive Business Development through Market Engagement and Tender Submissions
• 🛠️ Ensure Projects Comply with Design Standards, Legislation, and Ayesa’s IMS
• 🧠 Guide Innovation, Best Practice, and Strategic Growth across our water portfolio
• ✅ Champion Quality, Risk Management, and Safety in All Aspects of Delivery
· Business development including the preparation of tender submissions and identification of new market opportunities
· Represent Ayesa in a professional manner.
· Awareness of, and full compliance with, the requirements of Ayesa’s Integrated Management System (IMS)
· Management of projects in compliance with Ayesa’s Integrated Management System (IMS)
🧠 What You Bring
Experience & Qualifications:
• Honours Degree (Level 8 minimum, Level 9 preferred) in Civil Engineering
• 10+ years post-grad experience (including 8+ in flood risk or drainage engineering)
• Proven track record in flood relief or water services delivery, contract management, and client liaison
Skills & Strengths:
• Deep knowledge of flood management, drainage, and water infrastructure design
• Familiarity with Irish or UK planning, legislation, and design codes
• Ability to manage complex, high-value projects across multidisciplinary teams
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Thorough understanding of Quality and Integrated Management Systems
