Enabling people with an intellectual disability to have full and meaningful lives through quality person-centred services in partnership with families The Role: Staff Nurse | Monday to Friday | Permanent | Full-time The Organisation: Cheeverstown is a voluntary organisation, regulated by the Health Information & Quality Authority (HIQA).
We provide a wide range of person-centred services including residential, respite and day services to almost 400 adults with an intellectual disability in the South Dublin area.
Purpose of the Post: The successful applicant will be a valued member of our Nursing staff team providing a range of services to persons with intellectual disabilities.

Therefore, flexibility in your working location is required in order to best support Service Users to achieve their individual desired goals and live full and meaningful lives.
This role is in our New Directions day support services in the South Dublin area.
Person specification: Applications are invited from candidates who are currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland in theRNID Division Applications from other nurses registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland who have aminimum of 1 years experience in the area of Intellectual Disabilitywill also be considered Have the clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
Candidates will possess a high level of communication skills and a strong command of the English language (both verbal and written) A flexible approach to hours to meet the needs of the service is essential, roster requirements include days, sleep over, nights and weekends Flexible, responsive to a person-centred approach and the individual's needs and abilities of the person Candidates should be proficient in I.T. Knowledge of the current HIQA Standards and Health Act Regulations **** One years experience supporting people with an intellectual disability is desirable.
Ability to lead a team Other requirements specific to the post: Knowledge of Irish Healthcare Knowledge of the New Directions framework Strong awareness of Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons at risk of Abuse Strong understanding of the Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Act, with the knowledge to exercise this in care Full drivers license and access to use of own car.

Salary is in accordance with HSE consolidated pay scales, depending on qualifications and experience.
