Speech and Language Therapist Role Overview
This senior speech and language therapist will work closely with children and young adults aged 0-18, providing tailored support for individuals with intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, and other complex needs.
Main Responsibilities:
* Treatment Planning
* The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and developing individualized treatment plans that cater to the unique needs of each client.
* Interdisciplinary Collaboration
* They will work in close collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care that addresses the diverse requirements of clients.
* Assessment and Intervention
* The senior speech and language therapist will conduct assessments and interventions using various Augmentative and Alternative Communication systems, ensuring effective communication and understanding.
* Service Planning
* They will develop and coordinate individual family service plans (IFSPs) or equivalent, tailoring support to meet the specific needs of families and caregivers.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Registration with CORU's Speech and Language Therapy Register
* Minimum three years post-qualification clinical experience
* Two years' experience working with children and young adults aged 0-18
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
