HR MANAGER Greenhill Fruit Farm Wexford, Ireland Full-Time | Senior Leadership Role Role Purpose Greenhill Fruit Farm is a large-scale soft fruit producer operating complex seasonal and year-round workforce models across field, packhouse, logistics and support functions. The HR Manager will lead and professionalise the full HR function across the business. This is not a transactional HR role. It is an operational leadership position requiring strong governance, commercial awareness, cultural intelligence and on-the-ground presence. You will manage: Core HR operations Seasonal workforce recruitment & onboarding Accommodation management WRC compliance & employment legislation Employee relations & culture Multilingual workforce integration Full HR governance suite You will report directly to the General Manager and operate as part of the senior leadership team. Key Responsibilities 1. HR Governance & Compliance Ensure full compliance with Irish employment legislation and WRC standards Maintain contracts, policies, procedures and employee handbooks Manage disciplinary, grievance and investigation processes Oversee audits, inspections and regulatory visits Ensure compliance with Organisation of Working Time Act, National Minimum Wage legislation, Employment Permits & immigration compliance, Equality legislation, Data protection (GDPR) Prepare documentation for WRC hearings when required This role must anticipate risk not react to it. 2. Seasonal Workforce Management International recruitment coordination Visa and employment permit management Arrival logistics & onboarding processes Induction programmes (multi-language) Workforce planning aligned to crop forecast Attrition management and performance tracking You must understand the commercial impact of labour availability on yield and packhouse output. 3. Accommodation Management Oversee accommodation standards & inspections Ensure compliance with housing regulations Manage allocations, room planning and occupancy tracking Resolve disputes professionally and fairly Ensure welfare standards are upheld Accommodation management is both a compliance and culture issue. 4. Employee Relations & Culture Lead positive employee engagement initiatives Act as escalation point for management issues Support managers in handling performance concerns Drive fair and consistent disciplinary processes Promote a respectful, accountable workplace culture You must be comfortable walking the floor and speaking directly with employees and supervisors. 5. Multilingual & Cultural Workforce Leadership Ensure translation support for key documents Promote cultural integration initiatives Develop inclusive communication systems Train managers on cross-cultural leadership Reduce conflict arising from miscommunication This role requires high emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal judgement. 6. Full HR Suite Management Recruitment & selection processes Contracts & onboarding Payroll coordination (with finance) Performance management frameworks Absence monitoring & return-to-work procedures Training & development coordination HR reporting & KPI dashboards Succession planning support You will build systems, not just paperwork. 7. Leadership & Management Capability Coach and support supervisors and managers Deliver HR training sessions where required Contribute to leadership development initiatives Ensure HR supports operational excellence and productivity HR must enable the business not slow it down. Candidate Profile Essential Requirements Minimum 5 years HR Management experience in Ireland Proven experience handling disciplinary & grievance procedures Strong knowledge of Irish employment law and WRC processes Relevant Irish HR qualification (e.g. CIPD or equivalent) Experience managing a workforce of 150+ employees Strong documentation and compliance skills Confident communicator with excellent written English Highly Desirable Experience in horticulture, agriculture, food production or manufacturing Experience managing seasonal or migrant labour models Experience managing on-site accommodation Experience in a multilingual workforce environment Exposure to audit environments (Bord Bia / customer audits) Experience in high-volume recruitment Personal Attributes Calm under pressure Commercially aware Firm but fair decision-maker High integrity Strong organisational discipline Practical and solution-focused Comfortable challenging senior managers where required Highly visible and approachable This role requires resilience and balanced judgement.
