You will apply advanced engineering principles, polymer science expertise, and hands‑on process development skills to design, optimize, and commercialize coating processes and materials that meet evolving customer and business needs. Your responsibilities will include:
Technical Leadership & Innovation
Apply intensive and diversified knowledge of polymer engineering, coating technologies, and materials science to develop novel solutions aligned with customer and business requirements.
Lead the design and development of new and proprietary processes to create innovative prototype devices.
Evaluate emerging technologies, materials, and equipment; recommend adoption where beneficial.
Project & Process Development
Plan, develop, and execute engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with technical and quality objectives.
Take polymer coating development initiatives from concept or pilot scale, including defining robust manufacturing processes and optimizing them for performance, yield, and cost.
Originate/review engineering documentation including protocols, reports, specs, and work instructions.
Hands-On Laboratory and Cleanroom Work
Build prototypes to support product development programs.
Perform hands‑on development of coatings, polymer formulations, and device assemblies, requiring strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
Maintain cleanroom discipline and adhere to all safety and contamination‑control requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence
Work with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to translate product needs into coating solutions.
Lead cross‑functional teams and support the development of less experienced engineers.
Communicate clearly across levels of the organization, presenting findings, recommendations, and decision‑support data.
Quality & Regulatory Compliance
Be a champion of “I Own Quality,” ensuring adherence to the Quality Management System, FDA regulations, ISO/GMP principles, and site‑level quality improvements.
Maintain detailed technical documentation, laboratory records, and engineering reports with full traceability, consistent with coating engineering and biomaterial engineering expectations.
