Role
Position: Person In Charge (Social Care Leader grade) – Residential Services, Ballyhaunis Co. Mayo.
Responsibilities
* Lead, coach, mentor and supervise a staff team supporting people to live the life of their choosing.
* Develop and implement an SRV approach to service provision, including responsibility for training and development for coordinators.
* Lead innovation and change; work in a dynamic environment with people supported, staff, families, and community leaders.
* Provide supportive feedback to staff in a valued, respectful manner; present concepts and information relevant to SRV-informed and autism-informed approaches.
* Be creative and solution-focused.
Candidate Requirements
* Knowledge of HIQA requirements essential.
* Proven experience of working with people on the Autistic spectrum is desirable.
* Resilience in working in the community; excellent communications skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative; creative problem solving; highly motivated.
* Experience facilitating and supporting people who have high and/or complex needs.
* Genuine understanding and interest in working alongside people to effect positive opportunities and change in their lives.
* Ability to listen, advocate for the individual, and work with their rights, preferences and dreams.
* Strong belief in people's rights, inclusion and equality.
Qualification Details
* Minimum of a Level 7-degree qualification in Social Care, or equivalent; qualification must be eligible for CORU registration.
* Minimum of 3 years managerial or supervisory experience in the social care sector.
* Management qualification.
Other Duties / Requirements
* Contribute to local service planning and the ongoing development needs of the service.
* Provide personal care and support to service users as required.
* Ensure a safe place of work, adhering to Western Care Association's Dignity at Work Policy and Health & Safety requirements.
* Promote safety in all environments in line with the Association's practices.
* Use positive approaches to support individuals who may have challenging behaviour in line with organisational practice.
* Full driver's license and access to a car; Garda Vetting & reference checks; work authorization for non-EU applicants; overseas police clearance if applicable.
Salary & Benefits
* Salary: Social Care Leader Pay Scale (€52,326 to €61,492 per annum), based on 39 hours/week.
