Training
You will be provided with the following training in the course of your apprenticeship:
1. That on the job training will be provided under the supervision of a suitably qualified person.
2. The off the job training will be provided at approved courses.
Duties
Your responsibilities will include but not necessarily be limited to:
· Carry out tasks related to the plumbing trade, under the supervision of a qualified plumber/instructor and consistent with apprenticeship year level. Attend off the job trade school to complete learning and assessment outcomes required for a plumbing apprenticeship.
· Carry out construction, assembly, alteration or renovation of plumbing installations, possibly for domestic environments.
· Carry out construction, maintenance and repair to existing plumbing.
· Handle and store plumbing supplies/materials.
· Follow appropriate manual handling techniques for manual tasks including lifting and moving items.
· Drive vehicles and operate machinery (licensed users only)
· Complete appropriate documentation.
· Carry out theory and practical assessment tasks in a workplace plumbing site/training center
· Read and interpret various types of construction/installation diagrams.
