Assistant General ManagerThe Brass FoxWe are seeking an experienced, motivated Assistant General Manager to join the management team at The Brass Fox. This is a key leadership role, supporting the General Manager in the day-to-day running of a busy, high-quality pub with food, events, and private functions.This role suits someone who thrives on the floor, leads from the front, and takes real ownership of standards, people, and performance.The RoleAs Assistant General Manager, you will be heavily involved in daily operations while also contributing to planning, staff development, stock control, and service excellence. You will be trusted to run shifts independently and act as Manager on Duty when required.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & ServiceLead service during busy periods, ensuring excellent customer experienceAct as Manager on Duty, overseeing floor, bar, and kitchen coordinationMaintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and presentationHandle customer queries and complaints professionally and confidentlyPeople ManagementSupport recruitment, training, and onboarding of new staffMotivate, coach, and manage team performanceAssist with rosters, appraisals and disciplinary proceduresFoster a positive, professional, and respectful workplace cultureStock, Cash & ComplianceAssist with stock ordering, stocktakes, and GP controlEnsure correct cash handling procedures are followedSupport compliance with health & safety, HACCP, and licensing lawsEnsure all legal and company policies are adhered to at all timesBusiness SupportWork closely with the General Manager to hit sales and margin targetsAssist in planning events, promotions, and busy trading periodsIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitabilityStep in to cover the General Manager when requiredWhat We're Looking ForPrevious experience as a supervisor, duty manager, or assistant manager in hospitalityStrong leadership and communication skillsExcellent operational knowledge of bar and food serviceAbility to remain calm and decisive under pressureHigh standards and attention to detailFlexible availability, including evenings and weekendsWhat We OfferA senior role in a well-established, busy local venueOpportunity to progress to General Manager levelCompetitive salary based on experienceYearly performance bonusTo apply:Please send your CV and a brief cover note to Job Type: Full-timePay: €35,000.00-€45,000.00 per yearBenefits:Bike to work schemeCompany eventsEmployee discountFood allowanceWork Location: In person
