Role Purpose
We are seeking an experienced CSA (Civil, Structural & Architectural) Regional Lead to drive technical excellence, governance, and performance across our projects in Ireland and Europe.
This leadership role is responsible for the strategic direction, technical assurance, and consistent delivery of CSA engineering across all project phases—from pre‑construction through to handover. You will act as the regional authority on CSA matters, ensuring engineering activities are delivered in line with design intent, statutory requirements, company standards, and project governance frameworks.
The role combines technical leadership, governance oversight, and people development, with the opportunity to influence major projects and shape the future capability of CSA engineering within the business.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
Define and deliver the regional CSA engineering strategy aligned with wider business objectives.
Provide leadership, management, and oversight of CSA engineering teams across multiple projects and regions.
Act as the technical authority for CSA, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance.
Lead engineering reviews, audits, and CSA risk assessments across bids and live projects.
Support pre‑construction, estimating, and business development teams with technical expertise.
Build strong relationships with clients, designers, suppliers, and authorities.
Engineering Governance & Assurance
Own and enforce CSA governance frameworks, standards, and assurance processes.
Oversee design reviews, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and regulations.
Manage CSA risk, change control, RFIs, and technical approvals.
Ensure effective CSA–MEP coordination and design integration.
Identify opportunities for value engineering, optimisation, and innovation.
Project Oversight & Performance
Provide oversight of CSA inputs into Project Engineering Support Reviews.
Challenge design maturity, subcontractor performance, and programme readiness.
Identify recurring issues, technical risks, and underperformance—driving corrective actions and escalations where required.
Ensure CSA deliverables align with programme, procurement, construction, and commissioning milestones.
Business Unit Engagement & Escalation
Contribute CSA insights to Business Unit Leadership (BUL) forums.
Present structured updates on risks, trends, resourcing, and performance.
Prepare and elevate issues in a proactive, evidence‑based manner.
Drive follow‑through on agreed actions and governance interventions.
Procurement & Quality
Review and approve CSA RFQ packages, technical submissions, and vendor returns.
Ensure alignment with design intent and project specifications.
Oversee quality assurance processes including ITPs, inspections, testing protocols, and commissioning activities.
Lead inspections, audits, and snagging processes through to close‑out.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Champion safe‑by‑design principles and ensure CSA risks are mitigated early.
Support project EHS compliance and contribute to incident investigations and corrective actions.
Business Development
Support bids and proposals with technical input, risk assessments, and innovative solutions.
Identify opportunities to drive efficiencies, differentiation, and new business growth.
Maintain strong relationships within the European construction and engineering network.
People & Capability Development
Mentor, coach, and develop CSA engineers across the region.
Lead training programmes, technical guidance, and engineering best practice.
Support recruitment, workforce planning, and succession development.
Promote continuous professional development (CPD) and professional accreditation.
About You
Extensive experience in CSA engineering leadership within complex construction or engineering environments.
Strong knowledge of engineering governance, design assurance, and project delivery.
Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams across multiple locations.
Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience engaging clients, consultants, and contractors.
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and mitigate technical and programme risks.
Passion for mentoring, developing teams, and driving engineering excellence.
