About the Position
Platform Engineer – Cloud Infrastructure (AWS)
We are seeking an experienced
Platform Engineer
to join our cloud engineering team. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining secure, scalable, and resilient cloud platforms to support business-critical applications. The successful candidate will play a key role in automation, infrastructure as code, and secure delivery pipelines, while collaborating closely with engineering, security, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, build, and maintain highly available cloud infrastructure in
AWS
, ensuring security and compliance.
* Partner with software engineering, SRE, and security teams to implement automation for deployment, observability, and compliance.
* Identify and automate manual processes to improve operational stability and reduce toil.
* Champion
DevSecOps
practices by embedding security controls into the platform lifecycle.
* Contribute to the design of resilient, fault-tolerant systems in cloud-native environments.
* Provide technical mentorship and knowledge sharing to peers and cross-functional teams.
* Research and recommend emerging technologies and best practices for continuous improvement.
Experience/Requirements
What We're Looking For:
* 7+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering.
* 3+ years of direct, hands-on experience with
AWS
.
* Strong background in designing production-grade cloud infrastructure, ideally within regulated industries.
* Deep knowledge of AWS security, networking, IAM, and governance.
* Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g.,
Python, Go, Shell
).
* Experience with
CI/CD pipelines
and GitOps workflows.
* Expertise with
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
, especially
Terraform
, for building and automating cloud environments.
* Familiarity with multi-account cloud architecture, landing zones, or control tower setups.
* Understanding of
zero-trust architecture, encryption, and key management systems (KMS)
.
* Hands-on experience with
containers
(Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g.,
Kubernetes / EKS
).
* Advanced networking knowledge (firewalls, DNS, load balancing, proxies, etc.).
* Experience with monitoring tools such as
Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Dynatrace
, and AWS-native observability tools.
* Demonstrated ability to optimize cloud cost and performance at scale.
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
