Overview
Drinks Ireland represents beer, cider, Irish Whiskey, spirits and wine manufacturers, brand owners and distributors on the island of Ireland and is a sector trade association within Ibec. This is a maternity cover role available on a specified fixed‑term contract. The successful person will maximise engagement and influence by leading the development and execution of stakeholder mapping and measuring campaigning achievements. They will have strong campaigning capability, understand what it takes to achieve real change and be charged with execution. The role works across Drinks Ireland membership with excellent stakeholder relationships and a clear understanding of external opportunities and threats, ensuring strategy implementation is aligned and adaptable. About the role
Campaign management, communications, public affairs and media:
* Develop and manage a perma-campaign approach.
* Build a positive industry reputation with key audiences.
* Work proactively and effectively with the Drinks Ireland team to ensure consistency and synergy across current and new Drinks Ireland initiatives.
* Demonstrate long-term ambition for the sector.
* Demonstrate innovation in activities and tactics to achieve goals.
* Translate thematic objectives for the sector into deliverable campaigns that engage business and influence key stakeholders.
* Systematically use technology and communications strategies to achieve objectives.
* Deliver coordinated campaign strategies and workplans for each thematic area.
* Provide insight and support on campaign strategy and tactics in the context of external developments.
* Measure and track the impact of Drinks Ireland campaigns.
* Leverage existing structures and networks to deliver campaign priorities.
* Seek opportunities to collaborate with other organisations.
* Create engaging campaign content and messaging customised for different audiences.
* Design and deliver effective communication plans for each campaign.
Member relations
* Build and maintain relationships with members, prospective members and key stakeholders on behalf of Drinks Ireland.
* Engage members so they are fully invested in campaigns.
Financial management and income generation
As identified by the Director of Drinks Ireland: manage budgets as directed.
Collaboration and delivery
Work towards the delivery of Ibec’s strategy as identified by the Director of Drinks Ireland:
* Work collaboratively through an integrated service delivery framework where appropriate.
* Work collaboratively in delivering general account management, where appropriate.
* Work collaboratively across the organisation on initiatives and projects, where appropriate.

Qualifications, experience & knowledge
* Primary degree;
* Relevant postgraduate qualifications;
* Ideally 5 years postgraduate experience.
Essential experience:
* Demonstrated experience of using a campaigning approach.
* Demonstrated ability to use a variety of communications tools to reach key audiences.
* Ability to generate new activities, messages and connections in furtherance of stakeholder engagement strategy and to evaluate their effectiveness.
Experience which would be advantageous:
* Grassroots coalition-building experience.
* Knowledge of the alcohol sector.
* Experience working with ad-hoc and formal committees/working groups.
* Experience working within the political, business and social environment.
* Understanding of business complexities facing the alcohol industry considering its product’s relationship with social and health issues.
* Business and competitive issues facing the Drinks Sector in Ireland, the EU and globally.
