An industry-leading semiconductor company is looking for a highly skilled EVA / Video Design Engineer to join their silicon design team. This role will focus on the design and implementation of hardware accelerators for computer vision, video processing, and AI-driven imaging applications across camera, AR/VR, and automotive platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and implement advanced computer vision and video processing algorithms in hardware, including (but not limited to) feature detection/extraction, object detection, dense motion mapping, and depth perception.
* Collaborate closely with hardware, system, and firmware teams to define requirements and develop high-performance EVA and video IP cores.
* Develop micro-architecture and RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog) optimized for area, power, and performance.
* Work closely with Design Verification (DV) teams to support test planning, BFM development, functional/gate-level verification, and coverage closure.
* Debug issues identified in simulation and emulation, providing root cause analysis and design fixes.
* Review linting, synthesis, CDC, LEC, CLP, and power analysis reports to ensure design quality and integrity.
* Support post-silicon validation and debug activities to ensure smooth bring-up and performance tuning.
* Maintain comprehensive design and architecture documentation.
* Collaborate effectively across global and cross-functional teams to deliver complex IPs to production.
Key Qualifications:
* Proven industry experience in ASIC or logic design for video, imaging, or computer vision applications.
* Strong proficiency with Verilog and SystemVerilog for RTL design and implementation.
* Experience with C/C++ and scripting in Python or Perl.
* Solid understanding of micro-architecture design, synthesis, and performance/power optimization.
* Exposure to DV methodologies and post-silicon debug workflows.
* Experience with low-power, high-throughput RTL design for compute-intensive multimedia workloads.
* Knowledge of video codecs and standards (H.264, HEVC, AV1, VVC) and pixel processing pipelines.
* Familiarity with computer vision and machine learning algorithms, especially as they relate to embedded or hardware acceleration.
* Prior ownership of a design block or IP is a strong plus.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills within a multi-disciplinary, global engineering environment.
