Maintenance Fitter/ Part Qualified Maintenance FitterWe are seeking a skilledMaintenance Fitterto join our maintenance team and provide high-quality mechanical support across our production site. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your primary focus will be to ensure that all mechanical systems and equipment perform at their best, with minimal downtime. This role plays a key part in driving site reliability through preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and continuous improvement initiatives.You'll be the first response for mechanical breakdowns and take ownership of maintaining a wide variety of mechanical systemsall while ensuring safety and compliance with industry regulations and internal standards.The CompanyGlennon Brothers is a leading timber processor in Ireland & the UK with a strong growth story. It also manufactures timber frame homes and engineered roof trusses for the house building sector and operates CHP and wood pellet plants, supplying renewable energy to many businesses and homes.With over 900 employees across multiple locations in Ireland and the UK, our people, commitment to service, and investment in cutting-edge technology are core to our business.Key tasksAs a Maintenance Fitter You Will Be Responsible ForCompleting plant and equipment fault diagnosis, repair and maintenance to enable the plant to operate safely and efficientlyFirst response for all mechanical breakdowns on-siteComplete process improvements, preventative maintenance and predictive maintenanceImplement preventative maintenance routines and provide technical leadership and ownership for site mechanical systems.Maintenance Must Be Carried Out OnMotors and gearboxes from fractional horsepower to up to 125kW.Chain drives and chains transporting anything from a few boards to several tonnes of logs.Hydraulic systems, including servo driven hydraulic systemsPneumatic systemsMobile plant including combi lift and fork trucksBoilers and drying kilns, including low pressure hot water systemsManufacture or adapt spare parts to include Arc and TIG welding Cutting and burningEnsuring equipment is well maintained to ensure maximum uptime by carrying out routine maintenance and inspections.Ensuring any spares used are documented so replacements can be sourcedEnsure compliance with external law, rules and regulations relevant to the plant and internal safety standards and procedures.Develop and implement new standards, work practices and procedures to improve safety standardsSupporting a wide range of equipment including for a Sawmill processSupporting with plant upgrade and continuous improvement projects.Key RequirementsRelevant trade qualification in Mechanical fitting or similar part qualified applicants will be consideredGood command of the English language is essentialProven experience in maintenance, ideally in an industrial or manufacturing settingStrong problem solving/ trouble shooting skillsAbility to work independently or as part of a teamFlexible team player with the ability to work on own initiativeWork schedule: Monday - Friday - Day shiftSkillsMechanical Maintenance Mechanical automation Mechanical fitting Troubleshooting problem solving skills.
