The engineer will work with the new product development team to characterize and test a wide range of high speed and precision signal chain products targeted toward Instrumentation and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) applications. The test development engineer will be part of a project team comprising members from marketing, design, product, assembly, quality, wafer foundry and application engineering to bring a product concept to a released mass production solution. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, fast-learning individual with strong technical, analytical and communication skills.ResponsibilitiesDevelopment of innovative, reliable and efficient probe and test solutions on high-performance mixed-signal ATE platforms for multisite parallel testing of a range of integrated circuit products.Lead the execution of the Test Development Process including the development phases of Silicon Functionality, Sampling, Characterization, Qualification, Yield Analysis and Offshore Production release to manufacturing test sites.Define and develop test methodologies with design engineers; lead creation of test plans and DFT/BIST to maximise test coverage, reduce FFC and improve testability.Implement pre-tapeout verification of test solutions using design simulation tools such as LTSpice.Design and develop test schematics and collaborate with layout engineers in the design of PCB hardware for Probe and Test solutions.Define production test limits and datasheet specifications based on characterization data and production test gauge R&R studies.Ensure complete test coverage of the datasheet with statistical significance to meet manufacturing requirements.Debug and correlate production test solutions to engineering bench measurements, and transfer production test solutions to high-volume manufacturing sites.Engage and support manufacturing sites to maintain production yield and high quality.Manage and maintain project schedules and costs aligned with product targets.May participate in customer or training-related visits (travel up to 10%).Required Skills and QualificationsBS or MS degree in EE or ECE. Typically requires 7 to 10 years of relevant and progressive experience with semiconductor ICs, with emphasis on mixed-signal testing.Strong analytical skills with ability to solve complex problems through designed experiments and analysis of data.Wide experience evaluating and measuring digital, analog and mixed-signal devices and circuits.Strong ATE program development skills, ideally with Teradyne/Eagle or National Instruments.Experience with software languages (VB, C/C++/C#) and LabVIEW; application experience preferred.History of mixed-signal PCB design and related CAD/Simulation tools.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Experience performing statistical data analysis using Excel or other data tools.Strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills, able to perform at a high level independently and within large multi-disciplined teams across time zones.Strong organizational skills and the ability to work to aggressive schedules.Experience working with bench evaluation equipment (meters, oscilloscopes, analysers).Experience developing test solutions with references, amplifiers, analog-to-digital converters, analog circuits, power management, semiconductor IC processes, PCB design, CAD/Simulation tools and software development.For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may require export licensing approval.
