The Opportunity
We are now seeking a Head of IT Programme Delivery to join the Chief Transformation, Technology & Offshore Office (CTTOO). The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Strategic Programme Delivery and be a member of EirGrid’s extended leadership team.
Responsibilities
Oversee the planning, execution and successful delivery of projects within the Strategic Delivery portfolio.
Manage a portfolio of initiatives, ensuring they are appropriately scoped, resourced, completed on time and within budget.
Deliver benefits from the business investment in capability uplifts to achieve strategic goals.
Execute the portfolio technology delivery process to respond to changing business priorities.
Ensure technology solutions are developed, configured and tested in line with the standards set by the CTTOO – secure, resilient, available and scalable.
Lead a team of portfolio, programme and project managers, development teams, test teams, transition teams and subject‑matter experts.
Collaborate with relevant internal and external stakeholders to align projects with strategic and business objectives.
The Team
Chief Transformation, Technology & Offshore Office (CTTOO) drives the transformation programme to deliver the power system to 2030 and beyond, maximizing renewable integration sustainably and affordably.
About You
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information Technology or a related field (MBA preferred).
Expertise in planning and executing complex IT programmes, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Outstanding leadership capability, inspiring and motivating cross‑functional teams.
Delivery focused, with outstanding organisational and planning skills.
Ability to translate complex issues for executive leadership and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Strong financial acumen, including managing budgets and funding requirements.
Outstanding relationship building and collaboration skills.
Adaptability to new situations, response to setbacks and comfort with uncertainty.
Significant leadership experience deploying third‑party services and managing strategic partnerships.
Change oriented, effectively challenging the status quo and guiding stakeholders through change.
Familiar with power system operations and energy market dynamics.
Experience in government, public sector or regulated industries is advantageous.
Strong analytical skills to align programmes with organisational goals and government priorities.
