Our client is a large multinational engineering consultancy that undertakes works in the highway and transportation areas.
The individual will work as part of a small core team, drawing on specialists and experts from various disciplines as required from within Jacobs. The role will primarily provide assistance to the Senior Technical Project Manager, as well as assistance with other tasks for the other core team members. The individual should have 5+ years’ experience, preferably in electrical power or energy engineering, or other relevant disciplines for transportation systems. Excellent written communication skills, proficiency in engineering design software and general office software are essential, and a good understanding of project management techniques would be helpful. Some experience in a contract administration role, ideally in the highway, transportation or construction industries, would be preferred. The candidate must work effectively as part of a focused team with tight delivery commitments, working with 3rd Parties, Clients, and Internal Teams.
Requirements:
* A level eight qualification recognized by the National Framework of Qualifications/Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), or other equivalent qualification in electrical power or energy engineering, or other relevant discipline for transportation systems.
* 5 years’ post-graduate experience working on infrastructural or energy projects.
* Experience working on electrical/mechanical systems projects and in the design, operation, and maintenance of infrastructure facilities is preferred.
* Good team player.
* Analytical, numerate, and self-motivated.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Good knowledge of project or program management, ideally in a multidisciplinary environment.
* Full Irish driving license.
* Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Project, Excel, and Word.
Responsibilities:
* Assist the Project Engineer in the day-to-day delivery of technical tasks related to power, services, and civils design input for optioneering and preliminary and scheme design for EV Charging hub upgrades.
* Conduct desktop research into EVCI and AF technology and assist with report compilation.
* Study ESB Networks electricity grid capacity data to advise on potential electricity supply issues at MSA sites.
* Review publications from bodies such as ESB Networks, EirGrid, CRU, government departments, ZEVI, EU, and others.
* Assist in preparing applications for electricity supply and liaise with ESB Networks regarding program and costs.
* Support liaison with MSA operating companies.
* Prepare reports and presentations for internal teams and external clients, verbally and in writing.
* Provide information to support planning applications for EVCI installations and upgrades.
* Assist in the administration and monitoring of operations and maintenance service contracts, including document checks and periodic audits of tunnel and motorway service area systems.
* Draft contract correspondence and reports.
* Conduct site inspections for condition and operational compliance as needed.
* Perform additional ad hoc duties related to service provision as required.
