I'm urgently seeking an experiencedLead Cost Controllerto join a global leader in Medical Technology as they expand their Cork manufacturing site for a long-term contract.This is a senior role within theCapital Projects team, responsible for driving project cost management, reporting, and governance across large-scale facility investments.The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that all projects are delivered to budget, while maintaining full compliance with industry and regulatory standards.Key ResponsibilitiesLead cost control activities across large pharmaceutical capital projects.Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis against baseline.Implement cost management elements of the Project Controls Plan, including reporting, contingency, and change management.Monitor, track, and report cost performance, risks, and trends to the Project Manager.Partner with Finance on supplier invoice validation and monthly reporting.Support bid evaluation, commercial negotiations, and contract award processes.Maintain cost-related registers (costbook, purchase orders, invoices, change management, etc.).Provide early warning of cost overruns and recommend corrective actions.Participate in project reviews, risk workshops, and lessons learned exercises.Drive continuous improvement and share best practices in project cost control.Qualifications & ExperienceDegree in Engineering or Business (or equivalent).Minimum 10 years' experience in cost control for capital projects, ideally within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical sector.Strong knowledge of contract forms (EPC, EPCM, Lump Sum, etc.) and supplier cost management.Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Agora, or equivalent).High proficiency in MS Excel and cost analysis tools.Proven ability to work with cross-functional project teams, finance, and external suppliers.Strong communication and decision-making skills with a proactive approach.If you are looking for a new and refreshing role or have any questions about the position, then give me a call, drop me a message, or apply directly below and get ahead of the crowd I look forward to hearing from you.For a confidential discussion about this role, or to apply, then send your CV to or call me, Corey Buckley, Recruitment Consultant - Life Sciences – US/Europe, at Please feel free to visit my LinkedIn profile to see my references/recommendations
