Overview
AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. AIS’s mission is to keep the cloud running by supporting all AWS data centers and their servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. The team works on complex supply‑chain problems and relies on diverse roles such as software, hardware, network engineers, supply‑chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers.
Key Job Responsibilities
Produce clear and concise documentation such as detailed design specifications, drawings, white papers, diagrams, and reports.
Ensure compliance with the Global Architectural Basis of Design by driving standardization in data‑center architectural designs.
Develop strategic solutions that meet or exceed quality requirements while staying within budget.
Translate company or customer goals into well‑defined, achievable, and testable specifications.
Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests during innovation and research and development projects.
Collaborate with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify the appropriate solutions.
Manage concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions.

Start the day by connecting with global team members to review ongoing projects, analyzing data, and collaborating on innovative cooling solutions. Participate in design reviews, engage with vendors, and contribute to sustainability initiatives that shape our environmental footprint.
Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
Experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance.
Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineering or Architectural License.
Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region.
Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
Working proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, NavisWorks, Bluebeam.
Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standards including IBC, IFC, and NFPA.
