We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanic to join our depot team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a mobile position with no fixed workshop, though the primary focus will be on providing mechanical support to our Lusk depot located in Lusk, Co. Dublin.
Responsibilities
Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance to a high professional standard.
Inspect vehicles and address issues highlighted by drivers during daily checks, ensuring all work meets required technical standards.
Respond to breakdowns on-site or within the local area, identifying faults and carrying out repairs efficiently.
Maintain accurate records of all service, maintenance, and repair activities.
Ensure the depot and mobile work areas remain clean, safe, and well-organized.
Proactively identify, report, and resolve safety concerns.
Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations as required by the company, RSA, and other regulatory bodies.
Participate in the company's Integrated Management System (IMS) processes and requirements.
Work closely with the transport department to communicate progress and ensure vehicles are available when needed for scheduled operations.
Provide technical guidance and support to apprentices and other technicians as required.
Requirements
Minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar mechanical role or industry.
National Craft Certificate in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics (SOLAS), Advanced Craft Certificate (FETAC Level 6), or equivalent qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
Full Irish Category B driving licence (required).
Category C or CE licence is an advantage.
Flexible, proactive attitude with the ability to work on-call and respond to urgent maintenance needs.
Must be legally eligible to work in Ireland.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
