Graduate Lead Educator required to join our highly qualified team in an established family-run early years service.
Working as part of our team with children aged between 2.5 to 12 years.
Minimum QQI Level 7 Qualification or QQI Level 8 in Early Years Education or equivalent as approved by the Department of Children, Disability and Equality (DCDE).
Full-time position. 40 hours per week. All-year contract.
Salary in line with ERO or above depending on qualification and experience.
Work permit for Ireland must be in place prior to application.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Work with children and experienced educators to support children's education and development.
* Lead the planning of safe, creative, and appropriate learning opportunities.
* Ensure all activities and practices in the room adhere to Aistear, the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework (NCCA, 2024), in line with a play-based emergent curriculum and policies and procedures in accordance with the Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years Services) Regulations 2016.
* Report regularly to the Manager and Assistant Manager and keep them updated.
* Formulate and operate a programme of activities that meet the individual needs and interests of children under the ECCE and SAC programmes in conjunction with other team members and the Manager.
* Keep records of children's development and learning journals, share this with parents and other key adults in the child's life.
* Ensure learning journals are updated with accurate and relevant information about children's activities and development.
* Support all staff to engage in good teamwork.
* Assist team members in accessing training or support they may require to fulfill their roles and responsibilities.
* Ensure all record-keeping is accurate and up-to-date within your designated area, in cooperation with the room team.
* Conduct room checks and outdoor checks in line with service procedures and health and safety requirements.
* Liaise with and support parents and other family members.
* Participate in training, staff meetings, room meetings, and service events.
* Work alongside the manager and staff team to ensure the service philosophy is fulfilled.
* Read, understand, and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role, as deemed appropriate for the needs of young children.
* Develop and maintain strong partnerships and communication with parents and families to facilitate daily caring and early learning needs.
* Ensure the provision of a high-quality inclusive environment to meet the needs of individual children.
* Undertake and organize domestic jobs within the room, such as snack preparation and equipment cleaning, as determined by the Manager.
The successful candidate must have
* Relevant Qualification QQI Level 7 or above.
* Tusla Child Protection relevant training.
* Garda Vetting, which is mandatory and will be provided by the service.
* First Aid certification (provided by the service).
* A genuine interest in working with young children in partnership with an early years team.
