Overview
To work in conjunction with other team members in co-ordinating and developing the service to meet the needs of the service user group and the objectives of the organisation. The Senior Physiotherapist will be responsible for the provision of a high quality Physiotherapy service and will carry out clinical and educational duties as required in accordance with standards of professional practice.

Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Physiotherapist Register maintained by the Physiotherapist Registration Board at CORU. See attached link for current approved Physiotherapy qualifications:
Qualifications
Individuals who qualified before the 30 th September 2018 and are registered or have applied for registration under section 91 of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act, 2005, must hold a Physiotherapy Qualification approved by CORU in order to be eligible to apply. The list of approved qualifications under the section 91 route can be accessed on the attached link:
Section 91 candidates are individuals who qualified before the 30 th September 2018 and have been engaged in the practice of the profession in the Republic of Ireland for a minimum of two years full time (or an aggregate of two years full time) between 1 st October 2016 and 30 th September 2018 are considered to be Section 91 Applicants under the Health and Social Care Professionals Act, 2005
AND
Candidates must have three years full time [or an aggregate of three years full time] post qualification clinical experience.
AND
All candidates must have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability, management, leadership and professional ability) to fulfil the duties of the role.
AND
Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.
* Annual Registration
On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
AND
Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
Health
A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Character
Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
Post Specific Requirements
Candidate must demonstrate sufficient depth & breadth of musculoskeletal/rheumatology/orthopaedic/ED out-patient physiotherapy experience in an acute hospital setting relevant to the role.
Candidate must demonstrate sufficient post graduate experience working in an out-patient/ED physiotherapy setting.
Candidate must demonstrate evidence of formal CPD activity relevant to the clinical area of musculoskeletal/orthopaedics/rheumatology/ED physiotherapy within the past three years.
Candidate must be eligible to participate in week-end/on-call Orthopaedic & Respiratory service provision.
