Resident Engineer - Public Realm Location: Roscommon, Ireland Sector: Engineering / Built Environment / Public Realm Infrastructure Employment Type: Perm Salary: €70,000 - €80,000 Role introduction and overview: We are seeking a number of Resident Engineers for an opportunity based in Roscommon, Ireland, supporting the construction phase of multiple Public Realm Enhancements Schemes. This role will suit a Civil Engineer, Site Agent or Resident Engineer with strong experience in civil or utilitysupervision, contract administration, and public realm or streetscape enhancement projects. The position is with a respected multidisciplinary practice of architects, engineers, designers, landscape architects and urbanists. With more than 35 years contributing to Ireland's built environment, the team has delivered projects across sectors including healthcare, education, commercial, residential, hospitality, culture and leisure. This opportunity sits within the wider engineering and infrastructure sector, focused on the successful on-site delivery of a public realm improvement scheme. Key Responsibilities as Resident Engineer: Provide full-time on-site supervision for the duration of the construction phase, maintaining accurate site records, daily reports, and photographic logs Support the Employer's Representative and Roscommon County Council in the efficient delivery and administration of the project Monitor contractor performance in relation to programme, workmanship, quality, and contractual compliance Review method statements, constructiondrawings, and material submittals, monitor health and safety compliance on site Attend site meetings and progress review meetings Liaise with the design team, contractor, utility providers, and other local stakeholders Assist with change control, site instructions, and payment certification processes, assessing claims, variations, and programme updates Oversee snagging, final inspections, and project close-out documentation Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience as Resident Engineer Third level qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent Previous experience supervising a project of similar scale and complexity within the past 5 years Strong background in construction supervision and site-based project delivery Ability to produce clear, concise reports and maintain comprehensive works records Good understanding of quality assurance, compliance, and construction documentation Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams How to apply: If you believe this Resident Engineer role aligns with your experience, please apply via the button provided.
