With a commitment to innovation, durability, and customer satisfaction, our engineering team plays a crucial role in developing best-in-class equipment for customers across the agricultural sector in Ireland, UK, Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.As we continue to expand, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to help further enhance our product range and support our long-term growth.Mechanical Design Engineer Role PurposeThe Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end design and development of slurry tanks and associated equipment. This includes creating detailed 3D models, producing manufacturing drawings, contributing to product improvements, and supporting the production process to ensure efficient and high-quality manufacturing.This role is key to ensuring our products meet industry standards, customer requirements, and internal quality benchmarks.Key Responsibilities in Design & Development· Develop detailed 3D CAD & Solidworks models and assemblies for slurry tanks, frames, chassis, and attachments, macerators, Dribble Bars etc.· Produce accurate manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.· Design components and systems that meet structural, performance, and safety requirements.· Support the development of new products and enhancements to existing machinery.Technical & Engineering Support· Work collaboratively with the production and fabrication teams to resolve design issues.· Work collaboratively with customers to discuss specifications and deal with queries· Conduct calculations relating to structural integrity, hydraulics, and mechanical performance.· Assist in prototyping, testing, and validating new designs.· Ensure designs comply with relevant standards (CE, UKCA, ISO, agricultural safety).Project Coordination· Manage engineering tasks from concept through to production release.· Liaise with suppliers to obtain technical details and ensure component compatibility.· Provide technical support to sales, customer service, and field teams when required.Continuous Improvement· Identify opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs and improve design efficiency.· Contribute to standardisation of components, assemblies, and processes.· Support LEAN and quality improvement initiatives across the business.Qualifications & ExperienceEssential· Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or related field.· Proven experience in mechanical design within manufacturing, ideally heavy fabrication or agricultural machinery.· Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar).· Strong understanding of fabrication processes including welding, machining, and CNC.· Experience producing detailed engineering drawings and BOMs.· Knowledge of mechanical systems such as hydraulics, PTO-driven mechanisms, and structural steel design.Desirable· Experience in the agricultural machinery sector.· Knowledge of tank design.· Understanding of quality systems and CE conformity requirements.Skills & Competencies· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.· Ability to balance creativity with practical manufacturing considerations.· Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.· High attention to detail and accuracy.· Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver within deadlines.· Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to support business growth.What We Offer· Competitive salary with a full company pension· Opportunities for career progression within a growing company.· A supportive engineering team with a strong focus on innovation and continuous learning.· Hands-on involvement in the full product lifecycle.· Training and development opportunities (technical, software, and industry-specific).Job Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: €36,642.29-€69,886.53 per yearBenefits:Company pensionWork Location: In person
