Position: Buyer
Location: Ballsbridge, Dublin 4
Skills and Requirements:
* Responsibility for several key projects.
* A minimum of three years’ experience in a construction purchasing role.
* Engineering experience is advantageous.
* Knowledge of and experience in the construction industry required.
* Relevant third‑level qualification – IIPMM or equivalent preferred.
* Full training on in‑house procedures/systems will be provided.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential.
* Excellent IT skills essential – knowledge of SAP would be advantageous.
* Salary will be in line with responsibilities, qualifications, and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Attend procurement meetings with project teams on key projects: Adhere to set project‑specific procurement strategy, ensure quality, cost and delivery targets are met and monitor supplier performance.
* Procure for key projects both domestic & international, through sourcing, negotiation, pricing, technical compliance, and supplier selection, leveraging volume discounts and long‑term partnerships while managing risks associated with supply continuity.
* Maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
* Ensure compliance on projects with our quality procedures.
* Preparation of project procurement reports.
* Monitor supplier performance for projects in conjunction with the head of procurement.
* Provide accurate and concise information to the Head of Electrical Procurement to inform strategic decision‑making.
* Lead continuous improvement of SAP ERP‑based procurement.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the head of procurement.
