As a Senior Associate in the Tax Risk & Controversy team, you will work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive experience, helping clients navigate revenue interventions and manage their tax risk.
This evolving field offers an exciting opportunity to broaden expertise across Tax Risk & Controversy.
We provide dedicated time and resources for upskilling across all areas of Tax Risk & Controversy to ensure your success.
Responsibilities
Manage the Revenue intervention process and liaise with Revenue throughout the engagement.
Carry out pre-audit testing and reviews across various tax heads to identify disclosure areas to Revenue.
Assist in the preparation of qualifying disclosures.
Engage with Revenue to agree appropriate tax settlements and apply interest and penalties.
Advise clients on their rights, Revenue powers, and strategies in managing revenue interventions.
Assess clients' tax controls and support development of a Tax Control Framework.
Coach team members and drive the team to deliver results authentically and passionately.
Train junior staff, promoting a culture of learning.
Bring business knowledge, innovation, and insight to create value for clients and the firm.
Embrace and lead digital transformation initiatives within the business and across clients.
Manage risk and compliance procedures, ensuring adherence to policy.
Operate and collaborate effectively across geographic and cultural boundaries.
Direct and drive success of multiple engagements.
Manage deliverables within budgetary and time constraints while ensuring high client satisfaction.
Contribute to a collaborative working environment.
Qualifications & Experience
3+ years of tax experience, ideally in the Revenue Commissioners or a Big 4/mid-tier practice.
Experience in revenue audits is desirable but not mandatory.
Tax or accountancy qualification (or equivalent experience) with a strong academic record.
Expertise in directing and managing multiple engagements.
Business acumen – ability to extract insights from market trends to guide client decision-making.
Relationship management – skill in reading situations and adapting behaviour to build diverse, quality relationships.
Creativity – ability to propose innovative solutions to complex problems.
