Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Resident Engineer to join our team in County Donegal. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Wastewater projects and be responsible for reviewing, advising and supervising MEICA Project installations.

The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years' post graduate experience in site supervision, contract administration, commissioning and project management of MEICA works on water/wastewater engineering projects.

A Degree in a related discipline, such as Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, is essential. Strong knowledge and experience of Health and Safety procedures and regulations is also required.


Key Responsibilities:

* Specialise in Mechanical & Electrical elements of the works with an emphasis on commissioning
* Driving delivery of projects on site on behalf of Uisce Éireann with a particular focus on health & safety, time for delivery, cost management, and ensuring that the project is constructed to the specified quality standard
* Ensuring that the works are carried out in accordance with the contract documents (works requirements)
* Ensuring that all materials incorporated into the permanent work and all workmanship are executed in accordance with the applicable specification as set out in the works requirements and that required testing is carried out
* Monitoring and reporting on works being carried out to the Employer's Requirements
* Ensuring that the employer's representative the relevant Project Manager and Uisce Éireann are fully informed of all issues arising on site
* Implementing Uisce Éireann safety policies and standards on the construction projects
* Reviewing and commenting on project/site specific HSQE documentation e.g. RAMS TMP etc.
* Monitoring compliance with contract health and safety requirements and Contractor's proposals
* Carry out weekly documented health and safety site reviews follow up and confirm satisfactory close out of health and safety issues
* Ensuring that any accident or incident on site no matter how minor is reported to Uisce Éireann and actively assist with the accident investigation and implementation of corrective and preventative actions
* Actively participating in Uisce Éireann HSQE Team's monthly inspections and confirming satisfactory close out of any issues identified


Desired Experience:

* At least 7 years' post graduate experience with 4 years' industry experience in site supervision contract administration commissioning and project management of MEICA works on water/wastewater engineering projects
* A Degree in a related discipline such as Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
* Knowledge of civil engineering works Mechanical & Electrical Works design build operate projects and project management
* Capable of writing clear and concise reports and keeping works records
* Strong knowledge and experience of Health and Safety procedures and regulations
* Satisfactory knowledge of construction contracts experience in FIDIC and Public Works forms of contract would be advantageous but not essential
* A current and valid SafePass card and Confined Spaces training


Requirements:

* Excellent organisational interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
* Ability to work within a team at all times
