Overview
Responsible for performing tasks involving physical labor on jobsites while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient construction site, supporting the overall project.
Responsibilities
1. Promote and comply with all company and safety policies and procedures.
2. Complete all required safety documentation.
3. Perform tasks such as digging, spreading, and leveling dirt and gravel with hand tools.
4. Lift, carry, and hold building materials, tools, and supplies.
5. Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work areas.
6. Mix, pour, and place concrete, gravel, and other materials using hand tools.
7. Join, wrap, and seal sections of pipe.
8. Perform routine tasks such as removing forms from set concrete, filling expansion joints with caulking, and rebar placement.
9. Assist with general cleanup, demolition, cutting torch use, jackhammers, and placing culvert or pipe sections in trenches.
10. Work on one job or transfer between tasks as the project progresses.
11. Travel to different job sites as needed.
12. Provide assistance on-site as required.
13. Maintain and care for assigned tools.
14. Perform physical labor on construction sites.
15. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent (GED), or 1-3 months of related experience or training in construction, or equivalent combination.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety, aligning with Wanzek's Zero Injury principles.
* Read and interpret safety rules, instructions, and manuals.
* Perform basic math operations and measurements.
* Follow written and oral instructions with common sense.
* Work accurately and follow procedures and standards.
Compensation and Benefits
* Hourly wage: $22.00 - $23.50, based on experience.
