Our organization is currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join its team on a permanent basis.
About the Role
* This role involves the installation, maintenance, overhaul, adjustment and modification of all plant and production equipment.
Main Responsibilities:
* Install, modify and maintain the full range of production equipment's
* Continuously improve plant operations by reducing downtime and waste, dealing with breakdowns, and fine-tuning production equipment to increase output
* Assist in the complete validation of new and existing equipment including acceptance trials, debugging, etc
* Liaise with vendors, suppliers and local engineering shops
* Analyse customer complaints and internal quality issues and assist in drawing up improvement programmes for equipment to eliminate defects
* Train other engineers, new recruits and apprentices as required
* Participate in companywide continuous improvement initiatives, working in teams as required and utilising appropriate quality tools
* Maintain recording and reporting systems on all engineering related matters
Key Requirements:
* Good knowledge of mechanical and electronic systems associated with high volume manufacturing equipment
* Third Level Qualification or National Craft Certificate together with additional specialised training and experience
* Relevant industrial experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment
* Ability to apply a scientific approach to problem solving and maximise productivity and yields
* Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
The organization operates 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. This is a 4-Cycle Shift Pattern role (Days and Nights). Any applicant must have a valid work permit, stamp 4 or an EU passport to apply.
