Development Scientist I is responsible for developing and optimizing new product methods, designs, and processes that directly support the successful introduction and long‑term performance of our diagnostic assays and systems. You will generate high‑quality experimental data, uphold technical standards, and train new scientists on critical laboratory systems.
This position reports to the Manager Development Science and is located in Co. Clare. The role is on‑site but is eligible for a remote work arrangement.
In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To
Develop methods, designs, and processes for new products
Develop production procedures and product/process specifications
Execute laboratory work following standard practices and procedures
Report experimental results and generate quality documentation
Support departmental operations through training and quality assurance
Analyze situations or data to obtain answers using standard practices
Participate in the analysis, design and development of system applications
Participate in process improvement projects
Report status of experiments to supervisor/ team and present data
Write experimental protocols and reports
Train new Development Scientists on instrument set up/maintenance and department processes
Provide quality assurance for adherence to technical standards
The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include
Education – bachelor’s degree (Level 8)
Experience – 0 to 2 years
Foundational scientific knowledge – basic knowledge of theory, principles, practices and procedures in a professional field
Ability to follow standard laboratory practices in analyzing situations or data
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in
Knowledge of industry standards
Knowledge of AU assays/systems
Early exposure to process improvement initiativesAbility to write quality documentation
