Role Purpose
To provide a high professional standard of nursing care in adherence to Blackrock Health protocols, policies and guidelines. To provide nursing assistance to Womens Health Specialists and Consultants sitting clinic in Blackrock Health Womens Health Centre
Experience
Evidence of continuous professional development.
Demonstrate a strong interest pertaining to Women's Health Nursing
Ability to carry out duties as a qualified Staff Nurse in relation to this specialised area

Key Responsibilities
To assist and perform routine nursing tasks related to patient care within the Womens Health Centre
To perform a holistic assessment of patients as required
To provide health promotion education specific to the clinic service
To chaperone and assist patients where appropriate during physician examination
To assist with minor procedures with the clinic
To provide sexual health guidance advice
To maintain effective infection control measures in line with Blackrock Health policies
To be able to perform CPR and ability to use an AED.
To be able to recognise and manage Anaphylaxis in accordance with Blackrock Health policy
Role Specific Responsibilities
Patient liaison pre and post IUD insertion, including specific patient education and 6/52 thread check
Carry out smear testing
Complete baseline observations
Carry out FRAX and Q Risk scoring
Venepuncture
Swab and urine sampling
Patient education and advice pertinent to the specialities
Manage appointment queries
Blood test management and result communication to both physician and patient where applicable
Imaging management and result communication to both physician and patient where applicable
Clinic tracker management for specialities within Womens Health Centre including the Gynae, Urogynae & Breast services
ECG in preparation for cardiology clinics
